1st XI

Captain : Steve Ashman

If anyone finds a shoulder at Waltham Cross Rosedale please return to me

Vice Captain : Matthew Billings

Michael Burrell
Appointed 1st XI captain for 2012.  The self-styled Son Of Duval" will be hoping for a return to the form that saw him become the top wicket-taker in HCPL three years ago. Away from the cricket field, he will one of the major challengers to Paul "Two Darts" James in the SCC Premier Darts League.
Owen Groves
All rounder who joined from Ware at the start of the 2016 season.  Made an immediate impact with 50* against Bishops Stortford for the 3rd XI.  Definite future 1st XI player.
Paul James
Paul "Two Darts" James is a old-fashioned swing bowler and when he gets right can be very difficult to face. It was these banana-balls which helped Paul win 2nd XI player of the year in 2005 and 2006. Reasonably quiet off the field, just goes about his business and is always around for a drink and chat. He won the 2010 Sawbridgeworth CC Premier Darts League, beating Danny "The Heir" Wilson 5-0 in the final.
William Jones
Joined the club from Ware at the start of the 2008 season.  Played two seasons for the 1st Team as a batsmen and occasional medium-pacer, before departing for Hong Kong.
Returned in July 2014 after nearly five years away, having changed to bowling leg-spin due to advancing years.
Has now taken up the mantle of 2nd Team skipper to nurture the development of those less than half his age.
Can always be relied upon to join in when there is a curry on offer.
Sam Timms
Joined from Hertford in 2013 in a bid to play senior cricket. Bowls right arm seam.
Richard M White

First XI scorer since 1984, becoming fixture secretary in 1990. Awarded life membership in 2004 and scored 1,500th 1st XI game in 2017. Best  game ever: Becker Transport Cup final win v Radlett, 31 August 2003

Danny Wilson
The former captain enjoyed a record-breaking season in 2011, scoring 949 league runs, surpassing Graham Hanlon's record of 915 set in 1995, and will be looking for further individual success this term. .

Away from the cricket field, Wilson has proved a very consistent performer on the oche, finishing runner-up in the Sawbridgeworth CC Premier Darts League for the last two years.
