Baldock 3rd XI v Sawbridgeworth Cricket Club Sawbo PANTHERS on Sat 01 May 2010 at 1:00
Sawbridgeworth Cricket Club Lost

Match report After leaving Sawbo with only 8 men for the first game of the season it has to be said the captain was not in the most positive frame of minds. But having persuaded Adam Boxall to come over and play and recruited James Bruton whilst in transit Sawbo eventually scraped together 10 men. Being asked to bat first the skipper was soon into his stride and ably supported by both Heslops the score was progressing nicely. The introduction of left arm spin then changed the course of the game with Freeman lbw for 43 and Heslop bowled soon after for 17 the scoring rate slowed dramatically until some late hitting from O Donovan (20) saw Sawbo finish on 118 after their 47 overs. Baldock started as though they wanted to win the game in 10 overs flat but some disciplined bowling and good catching saw chances taken until the 6th wicket pair saw Baldock home. Overall a pleasing performance given the lack of resources and one to build on for the season.
