Sawbridgeworth Cricket Club 1st XI v West Herts on Sat 19 May 2012 at 11:30
Sawbridgeworth Cricket Club Lost 6 wickets

Match report Sawbridgeworth’s batting was dismantled by a brilliant bowling performance by William Jones as they crashed to a six-wicket defeat to West Herts on Saturday.
The 19-year-old claimed a second hat-trick in as many games to spark a dramatic collapse that saw four wickets fall in just seven balls after Wilson and Rudkin had scored 25 from the first eight overs after the home team had been put in to bat.
Rudkin and Yadav were both caught behind by Kendal before Qureshi was trapped plum in front as Jones claimed a second treble having achieved the feat against Langleybury the previous week.
It got worse for the home side in the very next over as Wilson edged to slip where Sanders snapped up the regulation catch.
Ashman joined Joe Rudkin and they led a partial recovery as they added 45 for the fifth wicket before the match turned again as Gurney struck twice in four balls.
Sawbo suffered no more losses up until lunch in which they had advanced to 93-6 from 34 overs with Rudkin and Burrell unbeaten on 39 and six respectively. But any hopes of reaching a score around the 160 mark were quickly snuffed out by the returning Jones, who was on a hat-trick for a second time after removing the Sawbo skipper and Morgan before Howard kept out a yorker.
Rudkin struck two sixes off Gurney to not only reach a battling fifty but also give Sawbo their first bonus point of the season. The innings ended on “Nelson” as Howard became Jones’ sixth victim before Rudkin holed out to Smith at mid-off.
Marshall and Smith put on 34 in the first 11 overs of West Herts’ reply before the latter fell to a
brilliant leg-side stumping by Rudkin, which was the team’s first such dismissal since 2010, having not had a single one in the whole of last season.
Burrell was eventually rewarded with a second wicket when Marshall was caught at second slip having survived a confident shout by Wilson in the Sawbridgeworth captain’s previous over. Jones continued to play aggressively and along with his captain they took the score to one short of 100 before Ben Waring was introduced into the attack. He had been brought into the side at the last minute after Paul James had withdrawn with a foot injury and thus became the youngest ever Sawbo 1st XI league debutant at 14 years 38 days.
He needed only six balls to claim his first wicket when Wilson took the slip catch to send Jones on his way. Yadav returned to remove Sanders and Waring should have had a second wicket when Morgan spilled a chance to remove Parmar. That delivery went to the boundary and the next went for six as West Herts wrapped up victory half an hour before tea.
