North Mymms v Sawbridgeworth Cricket Club 1st XI on Sat 09 Aug 2014 at 12.30
Sawbridgeworth Cricket Club Won 12 runs

Match report The battle to stay in Saracens Herts League Premier Division took another dramatic twist on Saturday as Sawbridgeworth’s revival continued as they completed a league “double” over North Mymms to close the gap on the teams directly above them.
Although Andy McGarry’s side remain second from bottom, they closed the gap to 14 points on 8th placed Letchworth, who lost by nine wickets to basement club Stevenage. And they are now only 38 points adrift of seventh placed Potters Bar, who suffered their fourth defeat on the spin after they were thrashed by 147 runs by new leaders Radlett.
After played was delayed until 2.17pm due to heavy overnight rain, the match was reduced to 40 overs per side and it was no surprise when McGarry lost the toss for the ninth time in 13 games this season that Sawbo were asked to bat first in not the easiest of batting conditions.
They reached 36-2 after 12 overs before Wilson and Jerome came together for what proved to be a match winning third wicket partnership, with the pair putting on 97 for the third wicket with the pair showing the application and patience that was required on such a surface.
Both players deservedly reached half centuries before both fell in quick succession in the search for quick runs, which was provided by Sagar Trivedi, who smashed 23 not out from 11 balls, including two sixes in the last over of the innings which went for 16 as helped push Sawbridgeworth up to 166, which was exactly the same score they posted in the earlier meeting between the sides in June.
Trivedi got the much needed early breakthrough for Sawbo, having Qayyum caught behind off the third ball of the innings. He bowled with genuine pace, conceding just nine runs off his first five overs. However, the big wicket came in over number six when Mymms skipper Nesan Jeyaratnam – who scored a century against Radlett last week – fell to a smart stumping by Axon, to leave Mymms reeling at 10-2.
Mildenhall, who struggled early on - scoring one run from his first 30 balls – was joined by Rhys Carter, and the pair remained together until the halfway stage of the innings as the hosts advanced to 77-2, which was 17 runs more than Sawbridgeworth had been at the same stage.
The pendulum swung dramatically when Waring trapped the former in front before Rhys Wynne fell to a spectacular snare by Ashman, who ran back from mid-off to take a diving catch over his head as Mymms were suddenly 83-4.
Waring and Cunningham, who recovered well after conceding 18 in his first two overs, bowled brilliantly in tandem. They allowed Mymms only 17 runs between the 21st and 30th over, and were 110-4 with seven overs left when the pair finished their allocation, having conceded just 54 runs in their combined 16 overs.
Burrell’s return to the attack also proved a key one, with a wicket going down in his each of his second spell of four overs. Ben Carter was run out by a direct hit from Jerome and he ended his brother Rhys’ long vigil (70 in 100 balls) when he was caught at long on by Wilson.
He removed Saruaiya for a “golden” before Ben Bagshaw was caught on the boundary with 15 needed from three balls. Burrell conceded just two singles as Sawbo wrapped up their first away win of the season.
