Sawbridgeworth Cricket Club 3rd XI v Letchworth Garden City 4th XI on Sat 21 Jun 2014 at 1.00
Match was Drawn

Match report A beautiful warm sunny afternoon at Leventhorpe with the wicket resembling a road-unfortunately lost the toss, and fielded. Timms and Clayden opened the bowling, with Timms making the breakthrough finishing with a well earned 4 fer. Poor shot selection, accurate bowling and a run out, had LGC 50-5 but we failed to capitalise as the LGC No 5 dug out an unglamorous but effective 54. We toiled to finish 'em off, and a couple of semi costly drops meant that we needed to chase a 'gettable' 172 on a batters wicket. Clayden and Billings M. claimed two wickets, with Wair and Gale bowling economically without success.
In reply, Heath and Rickett fell despite looking very promising, leaving Levey and Bowler to build at 4 an over for a late order chase. Got bogged down around the 30 over mark raising the run rate, and despite a valiant late push by Bowler and Harnack, some tight and wily bowling meant we finished on equal runs which was very frustrating only losing 5 wickets. A draw wasn't the worst result, but felt like 14 points lost rather than 16 gained.
