Sawbridgeworth Cricket Club 1st XI Sunday v Jesters on Sun 17 May 2015 at 2.00
Sawbridgeworth Cricket Club Won 161 runs

Match report Harry Jerome re-wrote the Sawbridgeworth record books as he produced an extraordinary batting display against the Jesters on Sunday.

The 19 year old scored the highest individual score in the club's history, shattering the previous best of 223 scored by Matt Birch against Hutton in August 1997.

He became only the second Sawbo player to score a double century, which he incredibly reached from just 93 deliveries, which was 35 balls quicker than Birch. He needed just 34 balls to go from 100-200, with his 59 ball century being the sixth fastest SCC 1st XI hundred of all time.

Jerome also claimed the record for the fastest 150 for Sawbridgeworth, reaching the mark of 73 balls, shattering Chris Hopper's mark of 83 v Essex Tools in August 2002.

He also hit 15 sixes - which equalled the record for any Sawbo player, set by Joe Rudkin v Island Vale four years ago - along with 22 boundaries, the last of which saw him surpass Birch's record which had stood for nearly 18 years.

Chris Bird (55), who was dropped three times, contributed to a second wicket stand of 189 in 144 balls before George Kenny's 40 ball knock of 59 helped add 168 from just 13.4 overs for the third wicket as Sawbo recorded their highest ever score in a 40 over game.

Jesters responded positively in their reply with Kher and Short putting on 112 for the opening wicket in 14 overs, with the former reaching an impressive century off just 59 balls.

Harry Gale took two wickets in two balls after which the visitors lost wickets at regular intervals and were all out in the 30th over despite scoring at 7 runs per over.

Reynolds took 3-43 but it was Romesh Pakstun (2-18) who returned the most economical figures of an extraordinary day's cricket
