Sawbridgeworth Cricket Club 3rd XI v Ilford Catholic 3rd XI on Sat 24 Jun 2017 at 1:30
Sawbridgeworth Cricket Club Won by 33 runs

Match report A much needed fine winning performance from Sawbo 3's, on a much milder afternoon at the Leventhorpe tundra.
After winning the toss, the returning skipper Bowler elected to bat on a typical flat 'belter' looking wicket with rapid outfield. Despite less pace and bounce than usual, the openers Dongworth and Bovaird seemed to settle in nicely. Unfortunately, however, Dongers clipped a full toss to square leg, and Bovaird, who has looked to be getting into his stride, nicked behind to an excellent catch from the opposing Captain.
Bowler then joined Chisnall, and the scoring rate increased with Bowler on the attack from the off against the looping leg spin, and the in form Chisnall looking fluent at the crease. Bowler palyed on, and it was left to Chisnall and Harnack R. to take up th emantle and looking set for a big total, until Chisnall unluckily holed staright down the throat of deep mid wicket on 32!
Harnack R., who was suffering from an overnight stomach upset, managed to solidify and drive the innings from the middle order. As the (batting) runs continued to flow, with partners chipping in, Rich finished on what turned out to be a match winning innings of 55, as he tried to accelerate at the end of the innings. As Ramsey and James Gostling departed, the innings was hanging in the balance, but Harnack Junior (overcoming the trauma of losing his I Phone) joined his old man, in a vital seventh wicket partnership of 50 as Richard passed his own half century, a rich reward for his recent form. Richard fell on 55, and with Tom and Harry taking up past 200, leaving the 'Royal' pair Harry and Will to finish the innings on a respectable 205 for 8.

205 felt like 20 or 30 short, but we diligently stuck to the task of chipping away at the weakened IC batting line up. Dongworth removed the IC opener with an absolute 'jaffer',with one that moved both ways, and wickets continued to fall, culminating in a match winning bowling performance from Tom Harnack, finishing with four wickets, and the rest of the bowlers one each. Harry Bailes bowled beautifully, giving the ball plenty of flight, also finishing with very respectable figures.
The old adage, 'catches win matches' was very appropriate, not dropping any of our six catches with fine catches coming from Boxall and Ramsey. A sharp run out from Man of the Match Tom Harnack capped off an excellent fielding performance.
So a good confidence boosting team performance, puts us in good shape for our next '60 pointer' against fellow strugglers Matching Green this Saturday.
