Sawbridgeworth Cricket Club 3rd XI v Takeley 2nd XI on Sat 23 Jun 2018 at 1:30
Sawbridgeworth Cricket Club Won On less wickets lost!

Match report An amazing game at a breezy Leventhorpe (what changes?) saw us prevail on the basis of less wickets lost!

Dongers (2/28) took the brave decision to bowl first on the Leventhorpe road, and with the score at 61/2 at drinks things were looking promising. A decent partnership put Takeley right back in the game before a good last 10 from Boxall (3-37) and Nas (1/18) kept chipping away and restricted Takeley to 191/8.

Throughout our innings we were always in the hunt, with wickets in the bank. Good cameos from Hyam (38), Bastola (20), Bovaird (18) and the returning Rickett saw us needing 50 off the last 5. Jamo and Adam ran like whippets to put the pressure on the Takeley boundary riders and left us needing 4 off the last ball. 3 scampered runs off Adam’s bat (14*) saw the scores level and, after some confusion and a reference to the league handbook, we realised we had won!

Jamo (66*) was last seen breaking the speed limit out of Leventhorpe to get home and try to save his Crown Jewels after leaving an hour after he said he would!
